ACS Artists of the Month - June 2018

The Adirondack Central School District's Fine Arts Department has received the honor of $25 award per student from the Boonville Kiwanis Club members in recognition of the Artists of the Month.

Visual Arts

Shannon

Shannon Ruth

Adirondack High School - 12th Grade, Senior

Shannon is a very responsible, motivated and confident student. She comes to school every day with an excitement for learning and a dedication for going above and beyond at school. Shannon pays close attention to details and makes sure that her daily work is not only accurate, but also meticulously neat and of the utmost quality. She excels in the fine arts, photography and graphic art. In addition Shannon is also a model student who sets a positive example for her peers. Her work ethic and focus on doing well is an inspiration to her peers. Shannon is a wonderful young lady and it has been a privilege to have Shannon as an Art student here at ACS!

Instrumental Arts

Raigen

Raigen McGahey

Adirondack High School - 12th Grade, Senior

Raigen is an exceptional and highly-dedicated musician. She has performed on clarinet and bass clarinet in various ensembles for the past nine years and has made enormous contributions to our music department. In addition to many extra musical activities, she qualified for Area All-State three years in a row, sitting first chair for two years, and has been an outstanding NYSSMA Solo Festival participant. The Fine Arts Department is very proud of Raigen, her musicianship, dedication, and personality will be greatly missed. We wish her great fortune as she pursues a degree in Chemical Engineering at Clarkson University following graduation this spring.

Vocal Arts

McKenzie

McKenzie Spoor

Adirondack High School - 12th Grade, Senior

High School Vocalist, McKenzie Spoor is a member of Evergreen and Concert Choir. She attended the Area All-State Music Festival for the past two years, been a student director for the musical for the past two years, and has held leading roles in the past three musicals. McKenzie plans on attending Oswego in the fall, and hopes to keep music as part of her life while in college.
